THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS, IF NOT THE BEST BOOK ON WWII helmets. If you are going to be a collector or have a WWII helmet that you want to make sure is "correct", this is the book. Beautiful large photos of helmets used in theater with identifying icons on the same page letting you know what each helmet has as hardware. I thought that I would read it and put it in the bookshelf, but I find myself looking at it weekly. The photography is fantastic and you are told where each helmet came from and information on the owner if that info exists. Buy this one, you wont regret it.
All of the helmets in this superbly done book are illustrated in full-color with detailed descriptions of where they were found, where they came from, and in many cases, who their original owners were. It is a remarkable look at helmets just as they appeared all over the European theater, with particular emphasis on D-Day and the time table around the Ardennes offensive. If you want to see originals in color and in great detail - this is a phenomenal book.Can't imagine how you could make this book any better - buy it while you can.

This is an excellent work on the Helmets of the ETO. I have been collecting for years and the book is a great compliment to anyone interested in this time period. The only improvements I can suggest would be a section about painting methods and a cold chart for the era. Once again, a great book-well worth the investment if you have an interest in helmets form that period.
Really enjoy reading about the helmets. Research for when I want to purchase a real WWII helmet.
